Archetypal Psychology of Carl G. Jung
The Psychology of Carl Gustav Jung is the Psychology of the Collective Unconscious and Archetypes. Both terms refer to a deeper layer of our psyche: the Collective Unconscious, where the Archetypes reside, universal and timeless primordial patterns. Psyche comes from Greek and is synonymous with Soul; Jung says, then, that psychology must be the study or knowledge (logos) of the human Soul (psyche). While our Ego believes it knows itself and tends to deny the Unconscious as an autonomous entity, everyday behaviors tend to contradict this Ego's opinion. The following course is aimed at anyone who wants to have knowledge of themselves and the misguided mechanisms of thinking, feeling, and acting that lead individuals to suffering and pain. This course provides students with techniques that will facilitate psychological balance in their daily lives.
